Haven House

The Escondido shelter is open year round. There are 30 beds for men and 10 beds for women. Check-in time is 5:30 pm and check-out is at 6:30 am, weekdays and 7:00 am on weekends and holidays. Breakfast and evening meals are served. Referrals are through Interfaith Community Service office at 760-489-6380 ext. 274. Intakes are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm by appointment only.

In the North Coastal and North Inland regions, this small rotating shelter is operated by faith communities that provide 2 weeks at each location. All services are provided by faith community volunteers.
The Shelter is open to men, women, and families. You must be pre-screened by a Community Resource Center case manager to be in this shelter. You may stay for up too 8 weeks and the main requirement is that you be gainfully employed or actively working towards being employed.

(Bread of Life Rescue Mission offers an evening meal on weekdays throughout the year. The Winter shelter begins November 1st and ends March 31st. It has facilities for 32 men and 18 women. There are no showers but you can go Brother Bennos for breakfast and a shower in the morning. The best way to get a bed for the night at Bread of Life is to there early for the evening meal and then sign up for a bed. Evening meals are offered Sunday - Friday 6:00 pm - 6:30 pm.)

Operation Hope is a shelter for families and women operating year round. The shelter is located in Vista and is setup to provide some privacy for families. Educational and enrichment programs are offered in the evening. 


Catholic Charities La Posada de Guadalupe
2476 Impala Drive, Carlsbad, CA

La Posada is located in Carlsbad and operates a year-round short term shelter for farm-workers and men in need of shelter. Support services include case management, showers, breakfast, bagged lunches and supper.
